Surgery for the Hip and Knee and Traumatic Injuries
A native of Maine, Dr. Stephen Rodrigue, M.D. received his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine and completed his internship at the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. Dr. Rodrigue did his residency at the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program and was Chief Resident at Massachusetts General Hospital where he concentrated on traumatic injuries and reconstructive joint replacement surgery. He continued his education as a Spine Fellow at the Massachusetts General Hospital Spine Fellowship Program.
Dr. Rodrigue is currently involved with hip, knee and shoulder surgery, including arthroscopic surgical treatment to total joint replacement surgery. He is one of the few orthopaedic surgeons in New England performing minimally invasive hip and knee surgery (MIS). Dr. Rodrigue trained at the Zimmer Institute in Two-Incision Total Hip Replacement (MIS) Surgeries and has performed a number of these procedures. He is actively involved with Zimmer Corporation in patient outcome research and studies.
Dr. Rodrigue is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is actively involved in many professional organizations. He is a member-at-large of the Medical Executive Committee at Maine Medical Center, a state representative for the New England Orthopaedic Society, a member of the physician panel at Maine Employer’s Mutual Insurance Company, and he was past president of the Maine Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Rodrigue and his family reside in Cumberland, Maine.
